Importing Questions

Questions may be imported from previously saved Gameshow Pro 4 Libraries, a Gameshow Pro 3 Game File, a Tab-Return Formatted Text Files and from an ExamView Test Generator.

To import an existing Gameshow Pro v4 library, select Import/From Gameshow Pro Library under the File menu:

Selecting All Data will import ALL of the data selected in that library. Selecting Games and Used Questions & Info Screens will import just the game with their corresponding questions, answers and info screens from the selected library. Selecting Questions & Info Screens Only will import just the questions and info screens into the Question Bank.

In either case, ALL the questions imported will be appended to the current Gameshow Pro 4 Question Library.


To import your old Gameshow Pro 3 games, select Import/Gameshow Pro 3 Game File under the File menu if you have game files in Gameshow Pro 3 format that you wish to convert to Gameshow Pro 4:

Selecting Complete Game Data will import ALL of the data selected in that game. Selecting Questions & Infos Only will import just the questions, answers and infos from the selected game.

In either case, ALL the questions imported will be appended to the current Gameshow Pro 4 Question Library.

Note: ANY Gameshow Pro 3 game file may be imported into ANY other game, a feature that saves you time re-keying questions.


To import questions & answers from a Tab-Return Formatted Text File, select that option from the File/Import menu to display the Import wizard:

Each field in the imported file is displayed in columns with headings for various fields used by Gameshow Pro 4. Align the imported data column by column by clicking on the drop-down arrow next to each column heading:

then select the Gameshow Pro 4 field to which the information in this column corresponds. Use the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the screen to ensure that you have aligned each column in the import file. When finished, click Import All:

All the questions, answers, and info messages in the import file will be appended to the Gameshow Pro 4 Question Library.


To import questions & answers from an ExamView Test Generator, select that option from the File/Import menu to display the Import wizard:
