Right/Wrong Sounds

By default, sounds are played for right and wrong answers. The computer randomly selects a sound from a designated Gameshow Pro 4 Sound Sets. To preview sounds, select a Sound Set and click the Sample button to the right of the drop-down menu:

To select a Sound Set, click on its name in the drop-down menu:

The options for Sound Sets are:


Fun
Bell and buzzer, plus additional fun sounds.
Normal
Two sounds: a bell sound for correct answers, and a buzzer sound for incorrect answers.
Wacky
Standard and Fun sounds, plus 20 Wacky sounds.
Custom
Allows you to build a library of customized right/wrong sounds.
None
Disables all sounds.


Note
: Users without a Sound Blaster compatible sound card must choose the None option.

To customize Right/Wrong Sounds for your game, choose the Custom option. This will display all of Gameshow Pro 4's Sound Sets organized in tabs:

The Normal sound set has 1 right and 1 wrong sound. The Fun sound set has 9 right and 9 wrong sounds. The Wacky sound set has 10 right and 10 wrong sounds. Double-Click any sound file name to sample it.

Note:
Each sound in each sound pool is controlled independently. If the check box next to a sound is checked, it is active. To de-activate a sound, click the check box again to de-select it. For example, this technique may be used to create a game environment where only right answers are rewarded with sound accompaniment.

To create your own Sound Set, click the My tab:

Click the Edit Sound Set button below the right sounds to add a right sound to your library. Click the Edit Sound Set button below the wrong sounds to add a wrong sound.

To add a sound, click on the Edit Sound Set button. (In our examples, we'll assume that you clicked on the Edit Sound Set button under the heading Right Sounds.) On the Sound Library dialog box:

click on the Import New icon. This action displays the Select Sound File dialog box:

Navigate to the sound file you wish to import, then press Open. The selected sound file is then displayed in the list of My Right Sounds:

To delete a sound from the Sound Library, select the sound, then click the Delete icon at the top of the Sound Library dialog box:

Once you have populated your My Right Sounds with your sound file selections, press the OK button. This will bring you back to your customized list of Custom Right/Wrong Sounds:

Select or de-select the box to the left of the available sound files to include or exclude them from your game set.

Note:
You may import .au, .mp3 or .wav files as game show sounds in Windows. On a Macintosh you may use .aif and .mp3 files.
