If you would like for your game to begin with a sample question so that players can get used to using their keypads, then select Yes under Begin with Sample Question.

BEGIN-WITH-SAMPLE-QUESTION

Click the Edit button to enter your sample question and answer. The default setting is Yes.

After each question in the game, results for that question are shown on the screen as a bar chart with columns for the points won by each team. If you would like to display the final, classwide percentages for each answer, select Yes (the default setting) under Show Percentage for Each Question:

If you do not want to display percentages for each question, select No for this option. Alternatively, you may elect to display answer percentages for Surveys Only.

During the game, a Percentage Button will display after each question, which, if selected, will display voting percentages for each answer. When Show Percentage for Each Question is set to Yes, you may elect to calculate percentages based only on players' final responses or to include all their responses, both right and wrong. If you set the sub-option Calculate Answer Percentage Using to Final Response, players' earlier wrong responses will not affect the percentages displayed. The default setting for this sub-option is Final Response.

Note: Survey Questions always use a player's last response to calculate percentages.

When users are responding to a question, you may allow them to have more than one guess if you select Yes under Allow Multiple Answer Attempts:

The default setting is Yes. The number of answer attempts is always one less than the number of possible answers. If this option is set to Yes, you may elect to Penalize Wrong Responses. If you set this sub-option to Yes, players earn a reduced point value for right answers obtained after guessing incorrectly. For more information, see "Scoring Points" in the "Playing a Game" chapter. The default setting for this sub-option is Yes. If you set Allow Multiple Answer Attempts to No, then only a player's first response to a question is recorded.

Note: These options do not affect Survey Questions, which always permit multiple answer attempts & which never have right or wrong answers.

During a game, team scores are displayed in a series of animated stacked bars. To eliminate the animation of scores after each question, select No for Animate Scoring Feedback. The default setting is Yes.

If you want users' responses to be judged right or wrong as soon as their answers are received, then select Yes under Give Answer Feedback:

If you have also selected an Allow Multiple Answer Attempts setting of Yes and set Give Answer Feedback to Yes, AllPlay 2 will display Right, Try Again, Last Chance, and Wrong messages to users as their answers are received and graded. See the "Displaying a Question" topic in the "Playing a Game" chapter for examples of these messages. The default setting is Yes. If you set Give Answer Feedback to No, then players will be given no feedback on whether their answers were right or wrong.

Note: If you set Allow Multiple Answer Attempts to Yes and set Give Answer Feedback to No, then players can continue to answer and change their answers during the countdown sequence. Only their last answer will be accepted and recorded, and it will be worth 100% of its possible point value.

Another Note: When Allow Multiple Answer Attempts AND Give Answer Feedback are BOTH set to Yes, the setting for Calculate Answer Percentage Using (either Final Response or All Responses) will affect how this same statistic is displayed in the Results Viewer. See the "Reviewing Game Results" chapter, which illustrates how results are analyzed.
