Editing Text

AllPlay's flexibility provides you with many ways to edit text on both the PC and Macintosh platforms. The following navigational and editing rules apply:

·While in a text input field, the left and right arrow keys on the keyboard move the cursor left or right one character.

·On a PC, the Delete key erases the next character; the Backspace key erases the previous character. On a Macintosh, the forward Delete key erases the next character; the backward Delete key erases the previous character.

·To replace a word, double-click on it to highlight the word, or click before first letter of the word and drag to end of the word to highlight it. Then, type the new word.

·To delete words, highlight them and press the Delete key on the keyboard.

·To replace a field, triple-click on any word within the field to highlight entire field, or click in front of the first word of the phrase and drag the mouse over the entire field to highlight the field. Then, type the new field.

·The standard text editing commands available through either the Setup Menu across the top of the screen or via the keyboard are:

On a PC: Edit Cut (Ctrl-X), Edit Copy (Ctrl-C) and Edit Paste (Ctrl-V).
On a Mac: Edit Cut (z-X), Edit Copy (z-C) and Edit Paste (z-V).

Note: On a Macintosh, under the Edit menu, keyboard shortcuts are not specified for Cut, Copy and Paste.  Furthermore, Cut, Copy and Paste are not greyed out within the Edit menu when text is being edited.  However, the standard Macintosh keyboard shortcuts (command-X, command-C and command-V) will work as expected when editing text.
