Lock Out Function
Previous  Top  Next

The Lock Out button tells the receiver box to start/stop relaying Player input to the computer. Because Player input is relayed as a series of keystrokes, this is very useful in circumstances where you are trying to input data into text fields and need to prevent players from interfering with your typing.

Depressing the Lock Out button once will turn the Lock Out function ON. This will stop the relaying of Player input. Depressing the Lock Out button a second time will turn the Lock Out OFF and resume the relaying of Player input.

The red LED on the face of the AllPlay 2 Receiver is normally glowing red to indicate which application template is active at the time. This LED flashes when the Lock Out function is ON. The LED returns to a steady glow when the Player keypads are active again.

Note: If the Lock Out function is ON when you attempt to start or resume the Answer Timer (such as when returning from a Swap Out - see below), you will be given the following message:

lockoutfunction

You will then need to turn the Lock Out function OFF by depressing the Lock Out button and then depress the Proceed button in order to start/resume the timer and to open/reopen the answer poll.
